The Stack - LABC Warranty Claim, Hackney, London
Upon taking over the management of The Stack in Hackney, it became apparent that the building was suffering from multiple leaks caused by construction defects. Recognising that the building was covered under a 10-year LABC warranty, we initiated the claims process to address these issues and secure repairs for the property.

Shortly after taking over the management, it was identified that numerous leaks throughout the building were due to construction defects. Knowing that the property was covered by an LABC warranty, we immediately began exploring possible solutions under the warranty provisions. However, it was soon discovered that the underwriters responsible for the policy had gone into administration.
Despite this setback, we established contact with both the claims handlers and the administrators managing the underwriters. After thorough discussions and persistence, we successfully secured a firm of surveyors to conduct a comprehensive survey of the building. This survey identified the full extent of the external repairs required, as well as internal damage caused by the leaks. The survey findings were then used to tender the necessary repairs.
Project Status & Next Steps
While the claim is still under review, there are promising indications that it will be approved in the coming months. We remain fully committed to ensuring that all required repairs are completed, and that the building is restored to the condition expected by leaseholders when they originally purchased their properties.
