Paul Deveney

Managing Director, Lettings, London Acorn Group

Paul left school at 16 and went straight to work for NatWest Bank in London. A recession and a couple of interesting sales positions later, Paul responded to a job advert in the back pages of the Newshopper (that’s how it worked in those days!). After a successful interview, Paul joined Acorn in 1994 at the age of 22. During his time at Acorn, Paul cut his teeth in lettings, property management and even opened cold start offices, running both sales and lettings. Letting was where his passion truly was and the path that he finally took. His career took him from operations manager of the lettings team to eventually heading up the entire letting business, culminating in becoming a Director and Owner in 2003. During this period, Paul oversaw the organic growth of the lettings business as well as playing a vital role in acquisitions that the group made along the way. He was also responsible for launching Acorn’s BTR Division in 2011 and launched one of the first BTR schemes in the UK. Paul was also involved in the Mayor’s first ever London Living Rent scheme, which was managed by his team.

Fast forward to 2022 and Paul became a part of the LRG when The Acorn Group was acquired. Paul’s current role is MD of Lettings London, where he is responsible for several brands across London, which still includes Acorn, where it all started.

Hailing from Southeast London, Paul hasn’t travelled far from his roots and currently lives with his wife and 3 Daughters in Sundridge Park, Bromley. Paul loves sport, (mainly watching) particularly golf, watching Charlton and following the 49ers, his favourite NFL team. He also has a passion for food, music, and travel, as well as cooking up a great BBQ. Paul has been on the radio and DJ’d in some of the biggest clubs in London!!
