Leaders Romans Group completes its fourth acquisition of 2021

As part of its ongoing ambitious growth plan, Leaders Romans Group (LRG), one of the UK’s largest property services groups, has already completed a series of high-profile acquisitions this year to expand its presence across the UK. As it grows in size, LRG is looking to acquire brands that are highly regarded by customers across the UK, taking particular interest in the lettings market.

Most recently, LRG acquired Guardian Residential Lettings, an independent, single-branch lettings business in Harlow. Approximately 15 miles from Leaders Chelmsford, and 10 miles from another recent acquisition, EuroLet, this acquisition perfectly complements LRG’s growing presence in the South East of England. The first acquisition of the year, EuroLet was a single-office lettings business in Bishop’s Stortford. All existing staff members transferred to LRG and the business was rebranded to Leaders Bishop’s Stortford at the end of February.

The acquisition of Guardian comes hot off the heels of the acquisition of Gibbs Gillespie, LRG’s biggest acquisition to date. A strong name in the industry, Gibbs Gillespie is widely respected, and the market leader in the majority of the locations it trades in. LRG has maintained the Gibbs Gillespie name, and intends to grow it further across neighbouring areas. In Uxbridge and Gerrards Cross, where Romans already has branches, LRG now trades under both brands as it expands its presence inside the M25. All staff transferred with the business and retain their current positions.

Earlier in the year, LRG also expanded its presence in the East Midlands with its acquisition of Hill & Clark, a five-branch lettings and sales agency in Lincolnshire. A reputable brand in the area, its offices, located in Lincolnshire, Boston, Spalding, Holbeach and Bourne, as well as a virtual office in Skegness, now operate under the LRG umbrella. All of Hill & Clark’s 33 employees, and the brand name, have remained as they continue to serve the local community.

Matthew Light, Group Mergers and Acquisitions Director at LRG, comments: “It has been a very busy and exciting time for LRG. As we grow in size, welcoming many talented individuals, brands and branches into our fold, we are thrilled to be expanding our reach and growing our regional property services across the UK.”

This acquisition success is only the beginning of an ambitious growth plan that LRG plans to maintain throughout 2021, following on from its success in 2020. Last year, LRG made a record number of branch acquisitions, adding 20 new branches into the LRG brand and welcoming almost 200 staff members to the business.
